Workhorse of the Week vs Nashville SC and Minnesota United

Three points from two away matches is an improvement, even if that game in Minnesota wasn’t what we wanted. Vote for your top player in this final regular season edition of Workhorse of the Week.

MLS: FC Dallas at Minnesota United FC David Berding-USA TODAY Sports

You all cemented Ryan Hollingshead as a likely clear nominee for Workhorse of the Year with another week and another win.

3 Points from 2 Away Matches

FC Dallas had a chance to lock down a home playoff spot but fell short this week against Minnesota United.

Against Nashville SC, I feel like the team did what it needed to do to get that monkey off of their back. Nashville had been incredibly effective against Dallas since the restart so to go to Nashville and get a hard won three points was delicious. Kudos to Ryan Hollingshead for once again showing why he might be this season’s MVP with his lone goal.

Against Minnesota, it was a different story, despite Barrios likely being robbed of a goal in that one. I have been so swamped, that I have had little time to go back and watch this one other than some highlights. With the loss, Dallas is looking at an away match to start the playoffs which doesn’t bode well for this team, but hey, they have a chance. No excuse to not go and play with all the fire they have.

Big D After Dark

Ben, Jose, and I will be going live TONIGHT at 9 PM CST/10 PM EST for our last After Dark of the regular season. If you have missed it, After Dark is our video livestream available on Facebook and Youtube channels. We take your comments and reactions live and break down the latest FC Dallas news and results. It’s fun. Join us.

We’ll spend some time tonight talking about this season and if FC Dallas ended up where we hoped they might.

Of course, there are playoffs to come, so we will talk about Portland Timbers and what FC Dallas will need to do to lock down a result up in Oregon.
