While the injury concerns for FC Dallas have remained largely unchanged in recent weeks, there is going to be one noticeable absence tonight as the club hosts Inter Miami CF for the first time.
Veteran defender Reto Ziegler announced on his Instagram stories that he is sitting out Wednesday’s game to quarantine as a precaution. Kudos to FC Dallas announcer Mark Followill for snagging a screen shot of his account to announce the news.
No Reto Ziegler for FC Dallas game vs Inter Miami tonight. Announced on his IG that he's going to self quarantine tonight vs Inter Miami. @SteveDavis90 and I have the broadcast of the game at 730p on @FOXSportsSW pic.twitter.com/ocTZczAxgO

Ziegler’s story says that a family friends tested positive recently for COVID-19 and that as a precaution, he would sit out tonight’s game. Good to see that he has been testing negative and has no symptoms.
While I know it may be upsetting for some fans to see him take this route, I definitely appreciate Ziegler’s stance at this situation by putting the health of his family and himself first here.
Now the question will become, who replaces him in the lineup? Matt Hedges did return to action last weekend in Utah for a 20 minute or so spell in the draw with Real Salt Lake. FC Dallas manager Luchi Gonzalez did say afterwards that he wasn’t not fully fit to go a full 90 minutes. We will have to wait and see if the veteran defender can muster up a way to go the full 90 or if Gonzalez will shift tactics tonight to make up for him only going 45-60 minutes. Could we see Callum Montgomery earn his first start after returning from loan in San Antonio?
