As we covered last week, Franco Jara to FC Dallas has now been confirmed and official. Jara has been signed to a pre-contract and will be a DP player and will complete his transfer over the summer of 2020.
If Jara’s name seems familiar, that’s because he made a name for himself in front of the Dallas crowd back in 2017 when Dallas was making a run in the CONCACAF Champions League.
“After we saw how well Franco Jara played against us during 2017 Concacaf Champions League matches, I promised myself that I would work to get him in an FC Dallas uniform if that opportunity ever became available,” said FC Dallas President Dan Hunt. “He is a proven goal scorer. We’re confident that when he arrives in North Texas, he’ll be able to contribute right away.”
Jara, now 31, has been a consistent goal scoring threat for Pachuca since 2015, having netted 76 goals and provided 19 assists in 158 appearances. He also scored two goals against Dallas during the CCL semi-finals.
Jara will occupy an international spot, and his transfer is still pending approval of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
