Squad Selection: Does Luchi Gonzalez make any big changes for Sunday’s game?

FC Dallas needs six points in their final two games, it all starts with the Rapids on Sunday.

Two games to go folks. Just two. The long and crazy season has come down to this for FC Dallas, just two games against teams below the red playoff line. Up first is the final road game of the regular season against the Colorado Rapids.

Last week Luchi Gonzalez went back to an attacking group that had Dominique Badji, Zdenek Ondrasek and Michael Barrios carrying the load up top. For the most part, that seemed to work once Paxton Pomykal was entered into the game for Brandon Servania. The bigger question in my mind is does he flip Badji for Santiago Mosquera in this game and add just a little more attacking flare to the field.

Defensively things shouldn’t change too much for this one as the back four played pretty well against New York City FC, despite giving up the goal in the first minute.

So what kind of group should be used on Sunday in Colorado? A more attacking group or a slightly more defensive group? Colorado is after all still able to catch teams in the Western Conference with two wins to close out the regular season (along with a slew of other things needed to happen).

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Sunday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED:

OUT: Eric Alexander (adductor strain)

QUESTIONABLE: Brandon Servania (concussion)

LOAN: Dante Sealy (North Texas SC), Moises Hernandez (San Antonio FC), Ema Twumasi & Francis Atuahene (Austin Bold), Pablo Aranguiz (Unión Española)
