Squad Selection: How does FC Dallas respond in Seattle?

New, 2 comments

After a pretty ugly loss in Chicago, FC Dallas now has a quick turn around in Seattle.

MLS: FC Dallas at Chicago Fire Daniel Bartel-USA TODAY Sports

Last weekend in Chicago certainly didn’t go well. It is time for FC Dallas to quickly move on here as they head to Washington to take on the Seattle Sounders tomorrow night.

Luchi Gonzalez made a couple changes to his lineup out of the international break last weekend that didn’t go all that well with Edwin Cerrillo getting his first start since June over Brandon Servania. While Cerrillo is a solid #6 in the lineup, he certainly was a step down from Bryan Acosta who was out on a yellow card suspension. We should assume Acosta will be back in the lineup tomorrow night but the question will be does Luchi continue to trot out the Paxton Pomykal/Jesus Ferreira midfield duo with him? Or does he go with something else to help prevent the Sounders attack from spreading out the defense?

Defensively, after giving up four goals, do you make any big changes to that group? Maybe bring in Bressan to give Reggie Cannon a breather? Or even rookie John Nelson now that he is healthy again?

Up top, we saw Santiago Mosquera return from his injury last weekend. This may be a good spot for him to get a start and have someone like Dominique Badji come off the bench for him.

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Wednesday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED:

OUT: Eric Alexander (adductor strain)

QUESTIONABLE: none

LOAN: Dante Sealy (North Texas SC), Moises Hernandez (San Antonio FC), Ema Twumasi & Francis Atuahene (Austin Bold), Pablo Aranguiz (Unión Española)
