Squad Selection: Should FC Dallas make any changes against Chicago?

FC Dallas returns to action after the international break with a big game against the Fire.

MLS: FC Cincinnati at FC Dallas Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

It feels like it has been ages since the last FC Dallas game but we’re inching closer to it here this week as the club is getting set to take on the Chicago Fire this Saturday.

Due to the international break, Luchi Gonzalez was a bit short handed in training the last two weeks but was fortunate enough to get everyone back from international duty healthy. Now he has the fun task of sorting out who makes the game day lineup in Chicago.

The previous two games saw Paxton Pomykal come off the bench, but one might expect him to return to the lineup with Bryan Acosta out on a yellow card accumulation suspension. Or does someone like Edwin Cerrillo make his return to the lineup?

Either way, the rest of the lineup should likely resemble what we saw win back-to-back games at home to close out the month of August.

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Saturday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED: Bryan Acosta (yellow card accumulation)

OUT: none

QUESTIONABLE: Santiago Mosquera (lower body strain)

LOAN: Dante Sealy (North Texas SC), Moises Hernandez (San Antonio FC), Ema Twumasi & Francis Atuahene (Austin Bold), Pablo Aranguiz (Unión Española)
