Squad Selection: Can FC Dallas find their attack against Minnesota?

FC Dallas needs to get going here as the playoff push ramps up.

The long road to the playoffs is starting to speed up here as FC Dallas moves further into August and the start of what will be one of their most important weeks of the 2019 season when they host Minnesota United.

Last week Luchi Gonzalez opted to give Edwin Gyasi a run in the attack for the first time, which didn’t pan out as Gyasi picked up an injury (though he has been training this week, so there is that to consider). Michael Barrios will likely come back into the starting lineup this weekend as he was off the bench to help the attack in Orlando. Does Gonzalez opt for any other changes to the attack this week? Time will certainly tell but something has to get going out of that group as they only have two goals in their last four games.

We will see Reggie Cannon and Bryan Acosta return from their yellow card accumulation suspensions. That will provide some extra protection in the midfield and in the defense. The looming question in the midfield in my mind still revolves around who starts in that trio? Does Paxton Pomykal get partnered up with Acosta and Edwin Cerrillo this week? Or will we see another run with those two and Brandon Servania? Or Jacori Hayes?

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Saturday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED: none

OUT: none

QUESTIONABLE: Michael Barrios (ankle), Dominque Badji (calf), Edwin Gyasi (hamstring)

LOAN: Dante Sealy (North Texas SC), Moises Hernandez (San Antonio FC), Ema Twumasi & Francis Atuahene (Austin Bold), Pablo Aranguiz (Unión Española)
