Welcome back to our coverage of players with connections to FC Dallas, the FCD Academy, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Weston McKennie (AP - Schalke 04/Bundesliga): Weston did not start, but came on in the 58th of a 5-0 win, over Drochtersen/Assel (German Division 4) in DFB Pokal play.
Carlos Gruezo (FCD - FC Augsburg/Bundesliga): Carlos started and played the full match, in a 2-1 loss at Verl, in DFB Pokal action.
Anton Nedyalkov (FCD - Ludogorets/Bulgaria): Anton Nedyalkov did not feature for Ludogorets in their two most recent matches. There is a strong rumor that has linked Nedyalkov with Turkish power Besiktas, who are in need of a left back. The rumor is that Nedyalkov is Besiktas #2 option at left back, and that should their top choice fall through, they will acquire Nedyalkov. He is seen by Besiktas as a player who will provide them with a strong defensive presence, but lacks the offensive capabilities that they would prefer.

Chris Richards (AP/FCD - Bayern Munich/U19 Bundesliga): Chris has returned to full practice with Bayern Munich II, who had no matches scheduled last week.
Ramiro Funes Mori (DFW - Villarreal/La Liga): Ramiro and Villarreal played Bologna in a Club Friendly and won by a score of 4-3.
Getterson (FCD- Maritimo/Liga NOS): I have been telling anyone who will hear me, that Getterson is not the joke everyone in FC Dallas makes him out to be. He was simply a player making the jump from a lower division (Brazilian 4th Division), who needed time to make the jump. Time he never got with FC Dallas. Maritimo has given him that time, and Getterson has risen to the occasion. He entered the opening weekend of Liga NOS having scored four goals in eight club friendlies for Maritimo.
Maritimo hosted Portuguese powerhouse Sporting CP to start their season, and needed to find a way to gain a point against the Liga NOS giants. It was their hottest attacker, who set the tone early:
Maritimo would hold on for a 1-1 draw. A great result, considering the opponent.
David Texeira (FCD-Moreirense/Liga NOS): David did not feature for Moreirense this past week.
Christian Cappis (AP - Hobro IK/Danish Superliga): Christian Cappis started for Hobro IK, and played the full match, in a 2-0 loss against visiting 3rd place Brondy.
Happy 20th birthday to Christian Cappis!
Mexico & Central America
Rogelio Funes Mori (DFW-Monterrey): Rogelio started for Monterrey in a 1-0 win at Morelia.
Fabian Castillo (FCD - Queretaro) - Fabian started and played the full match, in a 2-1 victory against visiting Pachuca. The win sees Queretaro continue their red hot start to the Apertura, and currently sit second place in Liga MX.
Nick Hagen (AP - Municipal/Guatemala): Nick started and earned his third clean sheet in a row, as Municipal won 1-0 against visiting Malacateco. The win sees Municipal rise to 3rd place in the Liga Nacional Table.
Pablo Aranguiz (FCD - Union Espanola/Chile): Pablo started in a 1-0 loss at Everton. He did receive good news afterwards:
Major League Soccer & USL Championship
Emerson Hyndman (DFW - Atlanta United): Emerson continues his great play for Atlanta, this time starting for them in Campeones Cup against visiting Club America (Liga MX). It didn’t take long for Hyndman to make his mark on the match:
Hyndman’s goal would be the start of a wild and entertaining match, which Atlanta United would go on to win 3-2.
Tesho Akindele (FCD - Orlando City SC): Tesho will simply not stop scoring goals:
Tesho with his ninth goal of the season, which would prove the game winner, in a 1-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City
Omar Gonzalez (DFW - Toronto FC): Omar started in a 1-1 draw against visiting Orlando City SC.
Roland Lamah (FCD), Victor Ulloa (FCD/AP) & Corben Bone (DFW- FC Cincinnati): Vic and Roland both started in the Hell Is Real Derby at Columbus Crew. Ulloa would help put his team up first:
Ulloa got the assist off the Corner, and Roland would soon help put the team up 2-0:
Lamah with the assist on a beautiful cross, to put his team up 2-0. It wouldn’t last, as the home team would mount a furious rally, and FCC would have to hold on for the 2-2 draw.
Maxi Urruti (FCD - Montreal Impact): Urruti started Wednesday night, in Canadian Championship action, as Montreal would defeat Cavalry FC (Canadian Premier League) 1-0, and would advance to the Final on a 3-1 aggregate score. Montreal will face defending champs, Toronto FC.
