Squad Selection: Will we see any rotation for FC Dallas against the LA Galaxy?

New, 1 comment

FC Dallas found their attack last weekend, but with two games this week on the road, will it stick around?

The double game week is here folks. FC Dallas has taken off to Los Angeles for their game tomorrow night against the LA Galaxy. Each team is coming in off different results over the weekend as FCD ended their scoring slump with five goals against Minnesota United, while the Galaxy extended a losing streak to three games in their loss to DC United.

Now the Galaxy are back at home for the first time since mid-July as this will certainly be a six-pointer for each side with the playoff push underway. Against Minnesota, Luchi Gonzalez used a different approach to his lineup with Paxton Pomykal and Jesus Ferreira in the central midfield together as the free #8/#10 with Bryan Acosta sitting below them in the #6 role. Will he opt to keep that for another game or go with a more defensive approach on the road?

Furthermore, if he does go defensive, does he bring in Brandon Servania, Edwin Cerrillo or Jacori Hayes alongside Acosta? My vote is for Servania to be in a duel #6 role, as we saw his ability to get forward in the attack to be pretty strong last weekend.

The big question we may have is the health of Matt Hedges who left last weekend’s game at halftime. He did travel, so there shouldn’t be too many concerns but do you hold him off for this game and let him play in Montreal? Or do you throw him out there?

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Wednesday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED: none

OUT: none

QUESTIONABLE: none

LOAN: Dante Sealy (North Texas SC), Moises Hernandez (San Antonio FC), Ema Twumasi & Francis Atuahene (Austin Bold), Pablo Aranguiz (Unión Española)
