Squad Selection: Did the All-Star festivities disrupt FC Dallas’ lineup plans for Orlando City?

FC Dallas looks for a big road win in Orlando.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at FC Dallas Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

We’ve made it to the month of August folks. And with that kicks off an important stretch for FC Dallas beginning this weekend at Orlando City.

Last week FC Dallas struggled up front with their attack against Real Salt Lake with Paxton Pomykal coming off the bench. One would expect the young Homegrown to make the starting lineup this weekend as he claimed last night following the All-Star Game that he would be good to go.

The other lineup questions may revolve around who starts up front in the attack. Does Luchi Gonzalez go back to Jesus Ferreira over Dominique Badji? Or will he shock us all and give Zdenek Ondrasek or Cristian Colman a chance to show their worth up top?

Two changes we should expect in the lineup due to yellow card accumulations will be who fills in for Reggie Cannon at right back and Bryan Acosta in the midfield. We can probably assume either Bressan or Bryan Reynolds to fill in at right back for Cannon, while either Jacori Hayes or potentially Edwin Cerrillo get the nod for Acosta.

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Saturday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED: Reggie Cannon & Bryan Acosta (yellow card accumulation)

OUT: none

QUESTIONABLE: John Nelson (abdominal)

LOAN: Dante Sealy (North Texas SC), Moises Hernandez (San Antonio FC), Ema Twumasi & Francis Atuahene (Austin Bold), Pablo Aranguiz (Unión Española)
