The Vancouver Whitecaps stormed back in the final minutes of Wednesday night’s game to tie FC Dallas 2-2.

Dallas had a two goals advantage going into the final ten minutes of the game after getting goals from Ryan Hollingshead and Jesus Ferreira at the beginning of the second half.

The Caps nearly got on the board in the first five minutes of the game after Fredy Montero put an attempt on goal that forced a kick save by Jesse Gonzalez. The save fell right on the goal line but fortunately the Dallas keeper was able to keep the ball from going any further.

Dallas got their first goal shortly after halftime in the 55th as Michael Barrios slide a ball behind the Vancouver defense where Brandon Servania was able to tap it across goal to an open Ferreira for his fifth goal of the season.

Less than five minutes later, Servania found Hollingshead in the penalty box again and his shot sailed past a helpless Zac MacMath to double the Dallas lead.

Vancouver came back however in the 81st minute as Yordy Reyna slipped past two Dallas defenders before firing a shot that beat Gonzalez on the far post.

The visitors snuck in a second goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time as Lucas Venuto curled a shot past Gonzalez to bring the game level again.

Instant Reaction: You never want to give up points at home like this, especially to a team that you know you can beat. Its just possible Vancouver is this season’s team that Dallas struggles against. But the quick turnaround right now in the schedule definitely took it’s toll on both sides and Dallas really never got the energy going when they need to put their foot on the pedal in this one.

Man of the Match: The fans gave it to Barrios on the night, but it is hard to ignore the two assists out of Servania too.

What’s next for FC Dallas: There won’t be a lot of time to dwell on this game as they’ll be back on the road this weekend for a Sunday night clash at the Portland Timbers.
