Squad Selection: What kind of rotation will FC Dallas use against Vancouver?

FC Dallas has a double game week again this week, with Vancouver kicking things off tomorrow.

FC Dallas is getting quite used to these quick turn arounds for games here as they have yet another Wednesday night game at home this week when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Last Saturday, Luchi Gonzalez kept with his 4-3-3 look while brining in a midfield that a lot of US U20 fans would have liked to have seen in Poland during the U20 World Cup. Edwin Cerrillo, Brandon Servania and Paxton Pomykal made up the all-Homegrown midfield for the first time and it brought a lot of quality things to the field. On the flip side, he also went with a very veteran-led defensive group with Reto Ziegler, Matt Hedges, Bressan and Ryan Hollingshead all on the back line. Those combinations were good enough for a 3-0 win over Toronto.

Will Luchi go with that same starting group on Wednesday? Or will he be inclined to bring on someone like Santiago Mosquera for more minutes? Or even Ricardo Pepi into the starting lineup like he got during the two USOC games? Or is there something else Luchi should be doing?

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Wednesday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED: none

OUT: John Nelson (abdominal)

QUESTIONABLE: Jacori Hayes (quad)

LOAN: Dante Sealy (North Texas SC), Moises Hernandez (San Antonio FC), Ema Twumasi & Francis Atuahene (Austin Bold), Cristian Colman (North Texas SC)

INTERNATIONAL DUTY: Carlos Gruezo (Ecuador, Copa America), Bryan Acosta (Honduras, Gold Cup), Reggie Cannon (United States, Gold Cup)
