FC Dallas returns to SMU’s campus tonight as they host another USL Championship side in the 2019 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, this time against upstart New Mexico United.
This is the first meeting between the teams in the USOC and the winner will hit the road to face Minnesota United in the quarterfinals on July 10.
FC Dallas notes:
All-time in the USOC. FC Dallas are 35-20-6 all-time in the competition, including 21-6-3 in games played in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Key player for FC Dallas: Ricardo Pepi - The young, likely future Homegrown player, will remain with FCD for this game after earning the short-term loan from North Texas SC a week ago. Pepi showed well against OKC, with one assist on the night in the 4-0 win.
