FC Dallas has loaned forwards Francis Atuahene and Ema Twumasi to USL Championship team Austin Bold FC.
Atuahene is eligible to be recalled by FC Dallas at any point this season. Twumasi will remain in Austin for the remainder of the season. Both were loaned out to the USL’s top division in their rookie seasons a year ago.
The move had been in the works ahead of the pair making waves over the weekend in San Jose for FC Dallas in their draw against the San Jose Earthquakes, which saw Atuahene score just 42 second after making his MLS debut. Loaning them to the Championship division of the USL instead to USL-1 where North Texas SC plays, is all about getting the pair quality minutes at a higher level.
With players returning from injuries, international duty and potential transfers this summer, this allows each player to continue to get minutes and progress this season.
What do you make of these two getting loaned out again this season?
