For the third time in five years, FC Dallas host USL Championship side OKC Energy in the U.S. Open Cup.

FC Dallas won the inaugural meeting, 4-1, in the 2016 Fourth Round and advanced past OKC via penalty kicks after the teams finished deadlocked 2-2.
