FC Dallas vs Seattle Sounders: Match Predictions

Will Dallas ever win a game again?

MLS: Mobile Mini Sun Cup-FC Dallas at Seattle Sounders Jacob Snow-USA TODAY Sports

We’re not there yet, but Dallas is getting dangerously close to “must win” mode. Which to be honest, is frightening to say that on the first day of June, yet here we are. Injuries and international call ups have decimated Luchi Gonzalez’ roster options but if Dallas wants to make the playoffs, they gotta snag points somewhere and this one may be their best chance for the entire month given the schedule and other call ups looming.

Dallas has shown well against Seattle at home (4-0-2 since 2014) so there’s that. But without Paxton Pomykal and Edwin Cerrillo... does this team have enough to see three points?

The staff are continuing to make picks this season and we’re going with a simple points system, plus a slight twist:

Correct Result Prediction: 1pt

Correct Score: 2pts

Insightful commentary: +Bonus (admittedly this will be a bit arbitrary depending on accuracy, insight and creativity).

FCD vs SEA

Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Ben Lyon Win 2 1 The smug comments from Sounders fans this week...
Jack Rous Win 2 0 How do they do it? Ricardo Pepi
Jason Poon Loss 0 2 It's been fun but I'm not seeing a way out of Seattle with a win.
Jeff Loftin Loss 1 2 Close loss after controversial play at the other end which mysteriously doesn't get VAR treatment.
Mohammad Bushnaq Loss 1 2 Valiant effort but Dallas falls short in the Pacific NW for their revenge bid.
Nathan Hill Draw 2 2 FC Dallas advance on PKs and claim the Cascadia Cup. Goals from Jara and Pepi.
Ryan Scanlon Loss 1 3 Seattle’s quality and combination play will be too much for FC Dallas which will not let us get away with what we pulled off against Portland. Michael Barrios gives us a glimmer of hope with a goal before Jordan Morris and Nick Lodeiro put this out of reach.

What do you guys think? Can Dallas hold off a red hot Seattle? Will getting some pieces back and some home cooking do the trick or is this just going to be another long, depressing summer?
