FC Dallas will enter the Fourth Round of the 2019 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup against a familiar foe in USL Championship side Oklahoma City Energy FC.

The two sides will meet on either June 11 or 12 at SMU’s Westcott Field.

EDIT: FCD has announced the two sides will meet on June 12 at 7:00 pm.

OKC and FCD have meet twice before in previous Open Cup games. The most previous meeting was a shootout win in 2016, the same year that FC Dallas went on to win the entire tournament for the second time in club history.

OKC will also have some familiar faces to bring to Dallas in June as well. Former defenders Atiba Harris and Je-Vaughn Watson both are key players for Energy FC. They also have several other former MLS players in Deshorn Brown and Cordell Cato. Currently, OKC is fifth in the USL Championship Western Conference with a 5-3-2 record.

What do you make of playing this game at SMU again? Anyone having horrible flashbacks of Zach Loyd’s injury in 2016? Let us know below.
