It is that time of the year again. Fans can now vote for the league’s summer All-Star Game Fan XI. Each team has eight available players to choose from.
Eight FC Dallas players are eligible for selection to the Fan XI: Michael Barrios, Reggie Cannon, Jesus Ferreira, Jesse Gonzalez, Carlos Gruezo, Matt Hedges, Paxton Pomykal and Reto Ziegler.
The MLS All-Stars are set to take on 10-time Spanish champions Atlético Madrid at Orlando City Stadium in Orlando on July 31. The annual game will air on FS1, UniMás, TSN and TVA Sports domestically as well as across more than 170 countries globally.
Defender Matt Hedges represented FC Dallas in the 2017 and 2018 MLS All-Star Game. Goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez has represented FC Dallas in MLS Homegrown Game three consecutive seasons from 2015 to 2017, and Jesus Ferreira and Paxton Pomykal played in the 2018 MLS Homegrown Game against Liga MX’s Tigres UANL U-20 team.
Here is how it all works:
Fans will have the opportunity to vote online at MLSsoccer.com and through the free MLS app for their Fan XI players – one goalkeeper, and at least three defenders, four midfielders, and two forwards. The 10 players with the most votes, by position, will be named to the 2019 MLS All-Star Game Fan XI presented by Target.
The 11th player will be determined by the EA SPORTS™ “More Than a Vote” Challenge. Starting today, fans will have the opportunity to vote one player onto the MLS All-Star Fan XI presented by Target by playing EA SPORTS FIFA 19 on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, or PC. Using their favorite players in the starting lineup of any gameplay mode, each starting appearance will count as one vote toward the EA SPORTS™ “More Than a Vote” Challenge. The player with the most appearances through June 13 will earn the final spot on the 2019 MLS All-Star Game Fan XI presented by Target.
So get to voting!
