Squad Selection: What kind of changes are in store for FC Dallas as they take on Vancouver?

FC Dallas is back on the road but this time they’ll have some players back from injury.

MLS: Los Angeles FC at FC Dallas Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas is back on the road this weekend as they head to Canada to battle the Vancouver Whitecaps, who are coming off a midweek draw in New York.

Luchi Gonzalez will get a couple players back from injury this weekend as Michael Barrios and Carlos Gruezo are both training this week and appear to be healthy enough to go out west for this road trip.

That is definitely the good news, but the bad news is he’ll have to figure out what to do with his defense with Matt Hedges sitting out on a red card suspension for his goal denying tackle of Carlos Vela last weekend. Does Reto Ziegler get another shot at left back or will he be brought back into the middle with Bressan with either John Nelson or Ryan Hollingshead on the left wing?

Also, do you make any concessions for this game being on turf with guys like Dominque Badji, Barrios and Gruezo coming off injuries? Or just risk it when you know points are at a premium these days?

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Saturday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

SUSPENDED: Matt Hedges (red card)

OUT: Santiago Mosquera (knee)

QUESTIONABLE: Cristian Colman (torn ACL), Francis Atuahene (pectoral muscle), Dominque Badji (hip flexor), Carlos Gruezo (lower body strain)

LOAN: Dante Sealy (North Texas SC), Moises Hernandez (San Antonio FC)

INTERNATIONAL DUTY: Paxton Pomykal, Edwin Cerrillo and Brandon Servania (U-20 World Cup)
