Back to the USL Hernandez goes.

We’ve seen this one before, right?

FC Dallas announced on Thursday that they have loaned defender Moises Hernandez to USL Championship team San Antonio FC. He is eligible to be recalled by FC Dallas at any point this season.

The 26-year old spent part of last season with the USL-Championship side, where he appeared in six matches for the team. He signed with FC Dallas on July 31, 2018 after two seasons with the Guatemalan first division club Comunicaciones.

San Antonio will travel to Weidner Field to face Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, March 23 at 7 PM CT.

I believe it is safe to say that at this point, this loan isn’t about the progression of Hernandez as a player but more about keeping him fit at a higher level than say with North Texas SC in USL League One. That team is more for the younger academy player that is still developing. If anything, this move keeps Hernandez at arms length for FC Dallas to recall should one or two defenders go down to injuries this season.

What do you all make of this loan for Hernandez? Would you rather him be a leader for the NTSC side instead of going to San Antonio or are you good with him getting minutes at a higher level than that?
