After a few weeks of zero roster moves, FC Dallas is back at it today with their league-leading 24th Homegrown player signing in midfielder Edwin Cerrillo.
The Frisco native is the first Homegrown signing under new manager Luchi Gonzalez.
Cerrillo has been seen with the first team all preseason long, including minutes in the games last weekend at Toyota Stadium. He also spent a decent amount of time last fall training with the first team as well.
The 18-year old joined the FC Dallas Academy in 2015 and has scored 12 goals in 71 U.S. Soccer Development Academy matches since. Cerrillo scored in the 2016-17 U-16 Development Academy National Final in a 2-1 loss to Atlanta United FC.
In 2018, Cerrillo committed to play Division I soccer at the University of Maryland as a junior in high school.
The FC Dallas Academy has now produced 31 professional players signed by the FC Dallas organization.
