Update #2: FC Dallas loans midfielder Pablo Aránguiz to Chilean Primera División team Universidad de Chile on a year-long loan with an option to buy, the club announced today.
Update 12/30/19: looks like we're close on one end of this being done.
It may be time to mark another item off the winter check list for FC Dallas as the club has midfielder Pablo Aranguiz will be heading back to Chile again in 2020, just not with Unión Española where he spent most of 2019.

The tweet above shows Aranguiz leaving his physical, which means a deal is likely very close to being finalized. New reports have the 22-year-old set for a year-long loan to Universidad de Chile, which finished third from bottom in the Chilean top flight in 2019.
This move has been in the works for some time now as FC Dallas looked to keep his salary, international slot and his Designated Player slot off the books in 2020.
The loan will also help keep Aranguiz in line for a spot on the Chilean Olympics squad as they push for a spot in Tokyo next summer. They begin their qualifying run on January 18 as they take on Ecuador.
Are you happy FC Dallas has been able to figure out another loan for Aranguiz in 2020? Do you wish they would have been able to find a full transfer instead?
