FC Dallas signs Colombian midfielder Abel Aguilar

The World Cup veteran comes on a free transfer.

FC Dallas has had one of the more active summers in terms of roster upgrading and movement. On Monday, they made one more move to help make a push for a playoff spot as they signed midfielder and Colombian World Cup veteran Abel Aguilar.

FC Dallas was able to add Aguilar on a free transfer. He will be added to the roster and occupy an international slot pending receipt of his P1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate.

The 33-year old has spent the last three years with Deportivo Cali in Colombia where he made 55 appearances with one goal. He played in the last three World Cups for Colombia, including this year’s tournament in Russia where he got 32 minutes of action against Poland. He was charted off the field in that match after suffering abductor injury.

What do you all think of this addition? Happy to see some more depth in the midfield added?
