A convincing win at home worked well for FCD in the latest polls.

MLS: Minnesota United FC at FC Dallas Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

After losing two straight games, FC Dallas got back on track with a pretty straight-forward win at home over the weekend against Minnesota. The polls certainly took note of that win this week.

Comment: It’s Dallas who are on top of the West, and a solid win against a weakened Minnesota side was just what the doctor ordered. Dallas have a pretty favorable schedule from here on out, so if they stay the course they could definitely end the regular season on a roll.

Comment: Put any questions of a late-summer swoon for FC Dallas to rest -- for now. The 2-0 win over Minnesota at Toyota Stadium on Saturday not only kept the Texans in first place in the West, it was Oscar Pareja’s 100th victory as an MLS head coach.

Soccer America (This week: 3, Last week: 5)

Comment: It was a long wait -- kickoff was delayed 154 minutes -- but the win marked head coach Oscar Pareja’s 100th career victory in MLS and most important, kept FC Dallas in first place in the Western Conference.
