The FC Dallas and Bayern Munich partnership is still new but a new report today from MLSSoccer.com’s Sam Stejskal states the two sides could be working out a loan deal for one Dallas Homegrown.

FC Dallas defender Chris Richards is set to head on loan to Bayern Munich, sources told MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday. The loan will likely run through the end of 2018, according to the sources.

Richards has not met his Homegrown eligibility requirements to join the first team so this loan deal would get him some minutes with the Bayern U19 squad that is in the German 4th division. He won’t be able to join the Dallas first team until 2019 and the U19 season is over at the moment, so this deal gets him back on the field for meaningful minutes.

This is certainly a great development for FC Dallas in this partnership. The ability to get minutes for players like Richards is important and this could be an unique way to do that.

The 19-year old spent ten days in Germany earlier this year on a brief training stint as a part of the partnership with the German giants.
