FC Dallas defender Matt Hedges has been named to his second consecutive MLS All-Star Game, the league announced today.
Hedges is the lone FC Dallas representative on the team that will face Italian champions Juventus at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Wednesday, August 1. He is a pick by Atlanta manager Tata Martino to help round out the 26-man roster.
In 2017, Hedges was named to the All-Star team that faced Real Madrid in Chicago.
Hedges appeared in all but one match for FC Dallas this season, leading the defense to a 1.13 goals against average and five shutouts. His 191 MLS appearances ranks third in club history behind legends Jason Kreis (247) and Bobby Rhine (212). A member of the U.S. Men’s National Team, Hedges has five caps in his international career.
