Rankings Recap: FC Dallas stumbles following loss in New York

You can’t lose 3-0 and not fall in the rankings.

MLS: FC Dallas at New York Red Bulls Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Last week in New York wasn’t good for FC Dallas as they fell to the Red Bulls 3-0 despite being up a man for the majority of the match. The latest rankings reflected that loss as FCD fell down the order a bit.

MLSSoccer.com (This week: 8, Last Week: 5)

Comment: Well, Dallas lost their second game of the season, but more concerning was the flat performance against the Red Bulls, even though they played up a man for an hour. A potential salve is the next game, Friday in Minnesota.

ESPNFC (This Week 5, Last Week 5)

Comment: Oscar Pareja’s side looked out of sorts in New Jersey, where it suffered just its second loss of the year. Kellyn Acosta’s first-half removal was shocking and might have long-term ramifications.

Soccer America (This week: 6, Last week: 4)

Comment: FCD didn’t look ready for battle and thus a four-game win streak crashed despite playing with a man advantage for more than an hour. A very peeved Kellyn Acosta was subbed out well before halftime. On the plus side, Paxton Pomykal played 28 minutes off the bench in his first action since undergoing meniscus surgery in early April.
