Rankings Recap: The slow climb up continues for FC Dallas

Another week unbeaten has folks attention now.

MLS: Philadelphia Union at FC Dallas Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Six games down for FC Dallas, and the squad is still unbeaten on this 2018 season. The rankings from the various sites across the web have taken notice (at least three of these four have). A win this week in New York will certainly make more of an impact though. (This week: 4, Last Week: 7)

Comment: FC Dallas are now the final unbeaten team in MLS this season, and have been rewarded with a steady climb up the Power Rankings. A win over Philly is nice but may not be the stiffest test right now — the Yankee Stadium clash against NYCFC on Sunday — will be a much bigger yardstick in which FCD can measure themselves by.

ESPNFC (This week: 13, Last Week: 13)

Comment: FC Dallas is still unbeaten after a 2-0 home win over Philadelphia on Saturday and has quietly moved into second place in the Western Conference. The schedule hasn’t been daunting, but give FCD credit for the strong start to the season.

Soccer America (This week: 4, Last week: 4)

Comment: Off the bench, Max Urruti and Mauro Diaz scored 10 minutes apart. FCD outshot the Union, 17-9. Keeper Jimmy Maurer earned his third shutout.

Pro Soccer USA (This week: 4, Last week: 5)

Comment: Now the only unbeaten team in the league after defeating Philadelphia 2-0 last week while NYCFC lost its first match.
