Hoops Home and Abroad: Rogelio Funes Mori out for the remainder of the season

Rogelio had surgery, and is done for the season.

Welcome to another week of Big D Soccer’s coverage of your favorite players with ties to FC Dallas, the FCD Academy, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Rogelio was lost to Monterrey for the season, Alex Zendejas had a great week, and Conor Presley started his first pro match.


Europe

Weston McKennie (AP - Schalke 04/Bundesliga): Weston spent the week in camp with the USMNT, as they prepared for their Friendly against Paraguay on Tuesday. McKennie did not suit up in the 1-0 USMNT win, as he was left out of the match day squad due to a groin injury.

Keaton Parks (DFW - Benfica/Primeira Liga): International Break

Ramiro Funes Mori (DFW - Everton/Premier League): Ramiro suited up for the Argentina National Team on Tuesday, as they played Spain in an international friendly. Ramiro did not play, in a 6-1 loss by Argentina.

Mexico - Clausura Torneo

Rogelio Funes Mori (DFW - Monterrey/Liga MX): Rogelio is out for the remainder of the season, including the Clausura Playoffs, due to a Neurovascular issue on his right leg, that required surgery:

Alejandro Zendejas (FCD/AP - Atletico Zacatepec/Ascenso MX): Alex started for Atletico Zacatepec on Saturday, against visiting Alebrijes De Oaxaca. Just 10 minutes in, Alex put on a dazzling dribbling display on his way to giving Zacatepec the lead:

Zendejas was just getting started, as he topped that score, with an even more impressive goal:

Alex earned his first brace in Ascenso MX, and lead his team to a 3-1 victory.

The win sees Atletico Zacatepec to 7th place in the Ascenso MX Clausura Table.

Alex also earned some recognition for his performance:

Alex made the Ascenso MX Team of the Week, and earned Player of the Week honors.

Nicholas Hagen (AP - Municipal/Guatemala), Blas Perez (FCD - Municipal/Guatemala): Nick started on Sunday in a 1-0 loss against visiting Siquinala.

Nick started Wednesday, in a 2-2 draw at Malacateco.

The loss and draw, combine to keep Municipal 3rd place in the Liga Nacional Clausura Table

Moises Hernandez (FCD/AP - Comunicaciones/Guatemala): Moises started Sunday, and received a yellow card in a 3-2 loss at last place Suchitepequez.

Moises started Wednesday against visiting Marquense, and got a yellow card in the 2-1 victory for Los Cremas.

The loss and win, combine to move Los Cremas to 8th place in the Liga Nacional Clausura Table.

Conor Presley (DFW - San Antonio FC): Conor got his first USL start Saturday, against visiting Saint Louis FC. Conor played 66 minutes in the 2-1 San Antonio win, and had 37 touches, and 66.7% passing accuracy on 21 passes.

The win moves San Antonio FC to 9th place in the Western Conference.

Walker Hume (FCD - Orange County SC): Walker started Wednesday night, at Oklahoma City Energy FC. Walker played the full 90, and helped OC maintain a clean sheet, as they would go on to get the 1-0 road victory.

The win sees Orange County to 6th place in the Western Conference.
