The offense was lead by Roland Lamah’s two goals, Maxi Urruti first goal of the year and some additional stellar passing from Mauro Diaz and Michael Barrios.
FC Dallas took the lead 20 minutes into the match thanks to Barrios’ quick run down the right side. The Colombian worked his way into the penalty box after Diaz found an opening to free him inside the box. Barrios received the ball at the far post and quickly played it back across the mouth of the goal where Lamah was there to tap home the easy attempt.
Diaz nearly doubled the lead for Dallas in the 30th minute. The Argentine cut across the penalty box and ripped a shot that forced Stefan Frei to make a big diving save.
The Sounders were reduced to ten men in the 37th minute when Clint Dempsey elbowed Jacori Hayes in the gut. The card was issued after a video review of the incident and was Dempsey’s third career red card in MLS.
Urruti added Dallas’ second goal of the game in the 58th minute. Lamah played Urruti into the open space outside of the penalty box where he then ripped a shot to the far post for his first goal of the season.
Lamah added a second goal in the 63rd minute thanks to an assist from Urruti. This time Urruti played a perfectly weighted ball behind the Sounder defense where Lamah was there to do a one-time chip of Frei to extend the Dallas lead.
FC Dallas returns to action next Saturday as they host the Portland Timbers.
