FC Dallas vs Seattle Sounders: Match Predictions

New, 2 comments

Our staff believes FCD can get things going against Seattle.

MLS: Seattle Sounders FC at FC Dallas Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas look to take on the Seattle Sounders this Sunday. The Sounders roll into town after suffering a pretty embarrassing mid week defeat in the CCL. On top of the 3-0 drubbing, Seattle also lost Will Bruin and Chad Marshall to injuries during the game, and Nicolas Lodeiro picked up a last minute foot injury.

Their slump and injury problems could not come at a better time for Dallas though. After three lackluster performances to start the 2018 season, FCD could use someone to beat up on and boost the self esteem a bit. Seattle, with their form and injuries, look to play the part to kick start Dallas back into gear.

The staff are continuing to make picks this season. We’re going with a very simple points system:

Correct Result Prediction: 1pt

Correct Score: 2pts

Here’s where we stand after one match:

BDS Standings

Position Name Point Total
Position Name Point Total
1 Drew Epperley 29
2 Jared Tilley 27
3 Nathan Hill 26
4 Ben Lyon 22
5 Jeff Loftin 20
6 Etan Cohn 18
7 Mohammad Bushnaq 18
8 Jack Rouse 18
9 Jason Poon 17
10 Ryan Scanlon 16
11 Scott Hiney 9
12 Jose Carmona 8
13 Andrew Gentry 4
14 Cody Gamond 2
15 Preston Wetherington 2
16 Noah Riffe 1

Drew, Jared and Jeff are in the lead, as the only staff to be all doom and gloom with their Week 1 prediction against RSL But that could all change as most of us are fairly optimistic against Seattle (with the exception of yours truly) and should FCD pull out a result, the standings will change rapidly.

Here are our staff predictions:

FCD vs SEA

Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Name Result for FCD FCD Score Opposition Score Commentary
Ben Lyon Win 2 1 The smug comments from Sounders fans this week...
Jack Rous Win 2 0 How do they do it? Ricardo Pepi
Jason Poon Loss 0 2 It's been fun but I'm not seeing a way out of Seattle with a win.
Jeff Loftin Loss 1 2 Close loss after controversial play at the other end which mysteriously doesn't get VAR treatment.
Mohammad Bushnaq Loss 1 2 Valiant effort but Dallas falls short in the Pacific NW for their revenge bid.
Nathan Hill Draw 2 2 FC Dallas advance on PKs and claim the Cascadia Cup. Goals from Jara and Pepi.
Ryan Scanlon Loss 1 3 Seattle’s quality and combination play will be too much for FC Dallas which will not let us get away with what we pulled off against Portland. Michael Barrios gives us a glimmer of hope with a goal before Jordan Morris and Nick Lodeiro put this out of reach.

What do you guys think? Will FCD see their first league victory of the year? Are some of y’all on board with me, and we haven’t seen Dallas hit rock bottom yet? Let us know in the comments!
