Squad Selection: What does FC Dallas do in their first game of 2018?

Oscar Pareja has experimented a lot this preseason but what will his first look be on Wednesday?

The time has finally come as FC Dallas is heading south to Panama for their first meaningful game of 2018 as they take on Tauro FC in the Round of 16 in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Oscar Pareja has spent the majority of the preseason working out new formations and looks with the vast array of new talent that was brought in this winter. So far we’ve seen the old standard (4-2-3-1) and a new look (3-5-2).

Over the weekend against the Portland Timbers, Pareja gave us probably a good look at what his starting eleven will be this Wednesday. He stuck with the 4-2-3-1 but did at times shift to the 3-5-2 when he made some second half adjustments. I would imagine we’ll get a bit of that this week. My big question will come down to who replaces Kellyn Acosta in the lineup? Will Victor Ulloa get the nod or Jacori Hayes?

Here is what we know about availability going into Sunday’s game.

OUT: Francis Atuhene (fractured ulna)

QUESTIONABLE: Kellyn Acosta (groin),

LOAN: Anibal Chala (L.D.U. Quinto)
