The Homegrown looking to make move to Germany permanent

To no one’s surprise, Chris Richards is on the verge of making his loan to Bayern Munich permanent. Goal.com is reporting that Bayern is putting up $1.25 million to make a full transfer for the promising center back.

Richards signed with FC Dallas in the spring of 2018, and promptly was loaned out to Bayern Munich in thanks to their partnership. This looks to be a very good move for all parties, as Richards gets to test and challenge himself at a high level and Dallas gets a substantial transfer fee for a Homegrown.

Richards initially went on loan with his eyes on playing for the U-19 team, but after showcasing his talents, he quickly was invited to train with the first team and has continued to impress to make the German giants put in an offer.

Though some might be disappointed in this sale, but keep in mind this does nothing but further the belief that FC Dallas has one of the best, if not the best academies in North America. If you’re a youth player, with aspirations of playing professionally, where do you think you’ll go? Which Academy do you want to get into? And what if you’re like Richards, where you’re growing up in a state without an MLS team? This does nothing but further the already stellar reputation of the FCD Academy and will help attract more young talent to get to Dallas in order to reach their dreams.
