Welcome to another week of Big D Soccer’s coverage of your favorite players with ties to FC Dallas, the FCD Academy, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
This was a really big week for a lot of players, as Acosta, McKennie, and Zimmerman received USMNT call ups. Corben Bone received a set of good news, and a couple of former FCD Academy players partook in one of the biggest games of their young careers.
Weston McKennie (AP - Schalke 04/Bundesliga: Weston was on the bench Tuesday, in Champions League action, as Schalke 04 hosted the second leg against Galatasaray (Turkey). Weston would come on in the 56th minutes, with Schalke 04 up 1-0 at the time. Schalke 04 would go on to earn a 2-0 victory, and are now 2nd place in Group D.
Weston, will be joining the USMNT for their November friendlies:

Keaton Parks (DFW - Benfica/Primeira Liga): Keaton did not feature for Benfica II this past week.
Anton Nedyalkov (FCD - Ludogorets/Bulgaria): Anton started for Sunday, in a 4-1 victory at Etarm. The win keeps Ludogorets atop the First League Table, and they are currently in a six-match unbeaten streak.
Chris Richards (AP/FCD - Bayern Munich/U19 Bundesliga): Chris started Saturday, and played the full match, in FC Bayern U19s 2-1 win over Heidenheim U19. The win keeps Bayern Munich U19 second place in the U19 Bundesliga Nord Table.
Chris started Wednesday, in UEFA Youth League action against AEK Athens U19. Chris played the full match, in a 2-0 FC Bayern win. The win keeps FC Bayern U19, 3rd place in Group E.
FC Bayern U19 has suffered multiple injuries to their attacking players, and as a result, has had to lean on their defense quite a bit of late. Chris Richards has been a huge part of their defense, and here are some highlights of his contributions:
Ramiro Funes Mori (DFW - Villarreal/La Liga): Ramiro started on Sunday, against visiting Levante UD. Ramiro was in the midst of a solid performance, when this happened:

It would take a stoppage time goal for Villarreal to equalize, and escape with a 1-1 draw.
The draw keeps Villarreal, 16th place in La Liga Table.
Emerson Hyndman (DFW - Hibernian/Scottish PL): Emerson started for Hibernian against visiting St. Johnstone on Saturday. Emerson played 69 minutes, and was not on the field when St. Johnstone scored a last minute goal. Hibernian lost 1-0, and is now 6th place in the Scottish Premiership.
Middle East - Preseason
Mauro Diaz (FCD - Shabab Al Ahli Dubai/UAE): Mauro started for Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, in their league match against visiting Emirates, on Monday. Mauro played the full match, as Shabab Al Ahli Dubai won by a score of 2-1.
Shabab Al Ahli Dubai finds itself on a seven-match undefeated streak, that includes six wins, and sees them climb to 4th place in the Arabian Gulf League Table.
Omar Gonzalez (DFW - Atlas FC/Liga MX): Omar continues to start for struggling Atlas, and was on the pitch as 10 man Atlas got a 0-0 draw against visiting Leon. Atlas is currently 17th place in the Liga MX Table.
Alejandro Zendejas (AP/FCD - Guadalajara/Liga MX): Alex did not feature for Guadalajara, or their reserve team this week.
Fabian Castillo (FCD - Tijuana Xolos): Fabian did not feature for Tijuana Xolos this week.
Blas Perez (FCD - Arabe Unido/Panama): Blas came off the bench this past Friday, in a 3-1 victory at Plaza Amador. Arabe Unido finds itself in a 3 game winning streak, and has won eight of it’s last 11 matches, climbing to 5th place in the LPF Table.
Anibal Chala (FCD - LDU Quito, Loan/Ecuador): Anibal did not feature for LDU Quito this week. Chala, is no longer a member of FCD:
Spoke with FC Dallas president and owner Dan Hunt earlier. One bit of news from our convo: Anibal Chala is no longer with FCD. He's permanently with Ecuadoran club LDU Quito, where he'd been on loan for basically his entire Dallas tenure. Ex-young DP didn't play a minute in MLS.— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) November 8, 2018
Chala apparently met a performance threshold that triggered the transfer.
Major League Soccer
Kellyn Acosta (AP/FCD - Colorado Rapids): Colorado’s season may be over, but Kellyn still has games to play this month:
Lee Nguyen (DFW - Los Angeles FC) & Walker Zimmerman(FCD - Los Angeles FC): Lee and Walker’s season may be over, but Walker will be joining Weston McKennie, and Kellyn Acosta in the USMNT camp, as they prepare for a pair of November friendlies:
Devin Vega & Shaft Brewer (AP - Phoenix Rising): Vega and Brewer were both on the bench as Phoenix Rising defeated Orange County SC 2-1, and became the USL Western Conference Champions.
Vega and Brewer were both in the 18, as Phoenix Rising lost 1-0 in the USL Championship to Louisville City FC
Corben Bone (DFW - FC Cincinnati) - Corben had an astounding season with FC Cincinnati, finishing with 11 goals and four assists, with five of those goals being game winners, and a team leading 2600 minutes. Corben received some well deserved recognition:

That was not the only good news that Corben received this past week:
Finally, there’s this:
Former FC Dallas player David Texeira is back in the Portuguese top flight, joining Moreirense FC, after having spent the past half season playing in Cyprus, for AEL Limassol.
