FIFA 19 Challenge: Play the Kids!

Who’s ready for a youth based FIFA 19 Challenge?

Welcome back to another FIFA 19 Challenge! This week, you’ll be challenged to “Play the Kids!”

Note: You do not need to own FIFA 19 to take these challenges, as they can be achieved with most FIFA titles.

I have never really done this weeks challenges per say, but that’s mostly because my playthroughs are youth heavy to begin with, and I tend to have youth heavy lineups through out. Youth based challenges are quite popular with FIFA Career mode players, and it is very likely that regular FIFA players have already tried the first of the Challenges.

Just like last week, I expect that not everyone is familiar with Career Mode, or how to go about starting a Career Mode. Here is a handy dandy video to show you the ropes:

FC Dallas II

FCD fans have been longing for a reserve team, that can be used for player development. Well, this is no development team, but it will be a team that leans entirely on youth, just like a development team would.

Note: this challenge can be conducted with any team of your liking.

In this challenge, you must maintain an under 23 years old roster, throughout your playthrough. To achieve this, you have until the beginning of the following regular season to clear your roster of any players older than 22 years. To be clear, you have until the 1st match of the 2nd regular season, to clear your roster of any players above the age of 22, but if there is a player older than 22 years on your roster at the start of the 2nd regular season, you have effectively failed the challenge.

Let me clarify 1 thing, having a 23 year old player on your roster does not mean you have failed. Any player who turns 23 years old during the regular season, must be Transfer listed immediately, and you have until the conclusion of the next Transfer Window, to remove said player from your roster.

Challenge Requirements:

  1. No players above the age of 22 years old allowed at the start of the 2nd regular season, or any season after.
  2. Any player who turns 23 years old during any regular season, must be removed from roster in the next Transfer window.

Challenge Objectives:

  1. Win the Shield (best regular season record)
  2. Win the US Open Cup
  3. Win MLS Cup

This being a youth heavy challenge, do not skimp on your youth scouts, or any other scouts. Finding the best young talent, as soon as possible, is of paramount importance. Make sure you get the best scouts that money can buy.

FC Dallas III

This challenge is exactly like the previous one, except you will be challenged to go even younger.

In this challenge, you must maintain an under 21 years old roster, throughout your playthrough. To achieve this, you have until the beginning of the following regular season to clear your roster of any players older than 20 years. If there is a player older than 20 years old on your roster at the start of the 2nd regular season, you have effectively failed the challenge. So you have until the 1st match of the 2nd regular season, to clear your roster of any players above the age of 20 years old.

Challenge Requirements:

  1. No players above the age of 20 years old allowed at the start of the 2nd regular season, or any season after.
  2. Any player who turns 21 years old during any regular season, must be removed from roster in the next Transfer window.

Challenge Objectives:

  1. Win the Shield (best regular season record)
  2. Win the US Open Cup
  3. Win MLS Cup

Advanced Tip:

Send all three of your youth scouts out on the same day. Remember the day your youth scouts are due back, and make sure you save a day or two before their arrival. Now, when you skip forward to the day of your scouts arrival, you will be able to view all of the scout reports. If you do not like any of the players on the scout reports, you can simply exit the game without saving, and reload to your last saved date. The scout reports are random, so no scout reports will ever be the same. This means you can keep exiting, and reloading your saved game, until you get a scout report that is to your liking.

This trick will give you at least one stud recruit every month, and the better your scouts are, the less amount of time you will have to reload a saved game. The quality of your “stud recruit” will really come down to your patience, and your definition of a “stud recruit”.

Note: Either of these challenges can be be combined with last weeks challenge FCD vs. Liga MX, and future challenges to come.
