The win keeps FC Dallas atop the Western Conference standings and ensures them a top four finish this season in the conference.
Eight minutes into the match Dominque Badji nearly put FC Dallas on top with a nifty turn on Lamine Sane. Badji received the ball at the center off the box and fired a shot that hit off the crossbar.
FC Dallas kept it scoreless five minutes later thanks to a pair of saves from Jesse Gonzalez. Mohamed El-Munir connected on a shot at the near post that forced a tough save by Gonzalez. Quickly after that Will Johnson got on the end of another attempt at the top of the penalty box that Gonzalez pushed wide.
Dallas finally made a break through in the 63rd minute on a great passing sequence from team to help build up to the goal by Mosquera. The play started on the right side of the field as Reggie Cannon and Ulloa linked up with a give-and-go that then led to Urruti getting on the ball. The Argentine then fed the run of Barrios on the wing who then crossed the ball to Mosquera. The Colombian made one move around his defender before finding the back of the net.
Ulloa and Urruti were able to double the lead in the 70th minute on a free kick. Urruti sent in a low ball from 25 yards out where Ulloa was able to get a diving header that found the far post.
The game was postponed in the 80th minute due to a nasty storm in the area causing the game to be delayed for just over an hour.
Key moment: The switch to bring Mosquera in for Pablo Aranguiz was a huge boost to the attack. Aranquiz had some decent moments early on but was never really able to get in the game the same way Mosquera did.
Big stat: During the first half Victor Ulloa passed the 10,000 minutes played mark.
Up next: FC Dallas makes their first trip to Audi Field as they take on D.C. United next Saturday.
