Workhorse of the Week vs Colorado Rapids

FC Dallas went up in elevation and came down the mountain with nothing. Did any FC Dallas player stand out as workhorse of the week?

With eight votes, No One appears to have edged Jesse for the final Workhorse vote (depending on when the polls close). Probably a fitting result.

Is the end nigh?

After going ahead with a rare goal from open play and then giving it all up in the final 15 minutes or so against Colorado, FC Dallas slipped all the way from a potential of 2nd place in the Western Conference to 4th. Was it a lack of concentration? Was it the altitude? Or is this team just playing really poorly right now? You decide.

I’m not going to go back and dissect any particular player’s performance in this one. It’s a disappointing and deflating result. Three weeks ago, FC Dallas looked like a different team. Sure, they had issues, but the performance at DC United feels like a season ago. They didn’t win, but they battled. Did this team have more roster turnover that we don’t know about? Was it just some bad luck? A domino effect?

Why does it feel like the season ended on Sunday afternoon?

Yes, there is a big playoff game to come on Halloween night. I hope fans show up. I hope the team has a get together and sorts things out. I hope the game is thrilling, and FC Dallas makes Portland work their tails off. I am afraid however that none of those things are going to happen.

Playoffs are here, FC Dallas is in them, and some of us fans are already thinking about next season. That is not good.

I will try to enjoy Wednesday evening as much as I can. You should too. Miracles might happen. This team might show up to play and be the dominant team they are capable of being. But after last Sunday, I think that team may not be around anymore. With the question marks and changes and new players and a long grueling season, some of these guys may just be worn out.

That’s all I’m going to say about it anyway.
