Europe

Weston McKennie (AP - Schalke 04/Bundesliga): Weston suited up Sunday, in a club friendly against visiting Genk (Belgian 1st Division). In a surprise move, McKennie entered the match during the second half at Center Back.

Weston played well in the Schalke 04 3-man backline, and Schalke 04 won 2-1.

“We’ve been wanting to try him out in central defence for a while,” Schalke manager Domenico Tedesco said after the game, according to Bundesliga.com ”He’s good in the air, strong and up for anything.”

Tedesco's response has lead many to speculate that McKennie will feature mostly at Center Back in 2018.
