Squad Selection: How does FC Dallas handle their double game week?

A midweek trip to San Jose complicates the roster a bit.

MLS: FC Dallas at Houston Dynamo Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

After a weekend off, FC Dallas kicks off a two-game week as they head to the West Coast tomorrow to battle the San Jose Earthquakes.

Last Thursday in Houston we saw Oscar Pareja keep two big names out of his lineup due to either rest (Reto Ziegler) or injury (Roland Lamah). Given the fact that the team plays again on Saturday at home, it may be safe to say that Pareja will rest those two guys again tomorrow night and use a lineup similar to what he had in Houston a week ago.

That being said, Pareja has made a habit of rotating through players, especially on the road this season. Do you bring Santiago Mosquera back into the fold? Or do you keep trying Tesho Akindele on the wing with Dominque Badji up front and Pablo Aranguiz in the middle?

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Wednesday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

Newcomer: Abel Aguilar’s paperwork has not been received as of this writing, so I wouldn’t expect him for this game.

OUT: Kris Reaves (foot fracture), Francis Atuahene (calf strain)

QUESTIONABLE: Reto Ziegler, Roland Lamah

LOAN: Anibal Chala (L.D.U. Quinto), Adonijah Reid (Ottawa), Brandon Servania (Tulsa), Jesus Ferreira (Tulsa)

Did not travel: Based off some Instagram feeds, Ziegler did not travel today with the club. SO there is that.
