Squad Selection: Can FC Dallas pick up a rare win in Kansas City?

New, comments

Sporting KC has been struggling as of late, can FC Dallas take advantage of it?

MLS: FC Dallas at Houston Dynamo Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

It has been a busy week for FC Dallas as they’ve made several moves to improve their roster in the summer transfer window. The club has added players in key spots that should help push for a playoff spot later this fall.

Up first though is a tall task in as FCD visits a place that they’ve struggled in over the years, Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City. FCD’s last visit against Sporting Kansas City in the US Open Cup didn’t end well as they lost on a late goal in a wild 3-2 affair.

Oscar Pareja has plenty of questions surrounding his lineup this week. There are some serious questions up top that he will have to sort out. Does he begin to shift to a 4-4-2 to help prepare for the arrival of Dominique Badji next week? Or does he find a way to toss out a 4-3-3 with a little more midfield stability?

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Saturday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

QUESTIONABLE: Santiago Mosquera (hamstring), Cristian Colman (high ankle sprain)

LOAN: Anibal Chala (L.D.U. Quinto), Adonijah Reid (Ottawa), Brandon Servania (Tulsa), Francis Atauhene (OKC Energy)

Note: Dominique Badji is finalizing his green card and will not be available for this game. Pablo Aranguiz is also likely not to be available for this one his visa and ITC have not been received as of this writing.
