Squad Selection: How strong will FC Dallas look against Sporting KC?

After a full week of training, will Oscar Pareja be able to put out his best side?

MLS: Montreal Impact at FC Dallas Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas is getting some much needed relief in the schedule now that the World Cup has started but they’ll be back in action this weekend in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup when they travel north to take on Sporting Kansas City.

As with all Open Cup games, the international roster limits do make this one tricky for Oscar Pareja and company but seeing as how three of their nine available internationals are injured, it may not be that difficult to sort out.

Pareja has shifted to a 4-3-3 as of late with getting Mauro Diaz involved in the attack as a false wing on the left with Ryan Hollingshead overlapping him from the back. Will he continue on with that look or be more conservative in a place that has literally haunted them for the last few years in both league and Open Cup play?

Here is what we know in terms of availability for Saturday’s game (some of the loaned players could end up not being on loan, those are fluid each week):

OUT: Kris Reaves (core muscle), Anton Nedyalkov (broken collar bone)

QUESTIONABLE: Santiago Mosquera (hamstring), Cristian Colman (ankle)

LOAN: Anibal Chala (L.D.U. Quinto), Adonijah Reid (Ottawa)
