FC Dallas vs LAFC: Dallas hangs on and secures the draw!

Here is your match thread for today’s game.

MLS: FC Dallas at Los Angeles FC Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

MAAAAAAXI URUUUUUTI! Maxi fires a low shot into the corner! Tie game!

MAURER! Jimmy “All State” Mauer comes up huge again! Keeps it 1-0.

So close! Santiago Mosquera nearly ties it up. Ciman with a vital goal line clearance to keep it 1-0 LAFC.

Not a good start for FC Dallas. LAFC with an early 1-0 lead.

Looks like FC Dallas is going with a 4-4-2

And LAFC lineups.

After falling for the first time in 2018, FC Dallas has to regroup as they hit the road for the second straight week when they visit expansion side Los Angeles FC.

This is the first meeting ever between the two sides and FC Dallas’ first visit to the newly minted Banc of California Stadium. LAFC is coming off a 1-0 win in their home opener over the Seattle Sounders last week.

FC Dallas notes:

Rebounding after a loss. Dallas is 11-7-4 following the first loss of the season and is 3-3-0 under Oscar Pareja. FCD is the last MLS club team to post a loss this season. FC Dallas has not lost consecutive league games since July 29-August 5, 2017 (20 games).

Pareja against expansion clubs. FCD head coach Oscar Pareja is 4-1-0 against expansion clubs since he became Dallas’ head coach in 2012. His only loss came against Atlanta United at Mercedes Benz Stadium on September 10, 2017.

Key player. Santiago Mosquera. Sure, it was the key player last week but I’m calling him again this week due to his speed. If he can help press the LAFC defense and pin them back, FCD should have a shot at getting some points in this one.

Goals, goals, goals. LAFC has busted out of the gates this season by scoring 17 goals (tied for fourth-best in MLS) in seven games. Carlos Vela has five of those goals, with Diego Rossi getting four of his own.

Best start. With 15 points through their first seven games, LAFC has the best start of any expansion team in MLS history.
