Squad Selection: What is FC Dallas’ best look against the Vancouver Whitecaps?

Does Oscar Pareja make any big changes this week?

Noah Riffe

Another sunny Saturday game is upon us here as FC Dallas is getting set to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Last week Oscar Pareja reverted back to the familiar 4-2-3-1 look with Mauro Diaz getting his first start in four games. The move paid off as he picked up three assists in the 3-2 win over LA.

But this week could present some new challenges to Pareja with the suspension to Reto Ziegler. The Swiss international picked up a second yellow against the Galaxy and will miss Saturday’s game against Vancouver. This will be the first big change to the defense this season for Pareja as he has been able to have a consistent starting group for most of the early season. We assume Maynor Figueroa will be slotted in though maybe Pareja has liked what he has seen out of Homegrown Jordon Cano during his loans to OKC.

Either way, here is what we know right now in terms of player availability going into Saturday.

OUT: Kris Reaves (core muscle)

LOAN: Anibal Chala (L.D.U. Quinto), Francis Atuahene (OKC Energy), Ema Twumasi (OKC Energy), Adonijah Reid (Ottawa), Jesus Ferreira (Tulsa)

SUSPENDED: Reto Ziegler
