MLS: Real Salt Lake at FC Dallas Andrew Dieb-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas opens up the regular season tonight as they host Real Salt Lake.

Ballgame 1-1 draw

Solid response from FC Dallas in the second half but the late own goal was a nice gift to get the point.

1-1 85th minute - Own goal ties it up

Big break for FCD as Urruti forces an own-goal!

Halftime: 1-0 RSL

FC Dallas has had the bulk of the chances but the one that counts the most is on the scoreboard. Urruti, Diaz and Barrios have had plenty of chances on goal but Nick Rimando continues to be huge in net. Goals feel like they are coming though for this team.

1-0 RSL 25th minute - Joao Plata

RSL is on the board first with a counter attack goal from Plata. Albert Rusnak set up the play and Plata’s speed did the rest. Tough break as FCD was getting some solid chances with Mauro Diaz and Maxi Urruti.

6:37 PM Update: Where’s Jesse

We asked around, Jesse Gonzalez is out tonight as he is dealing with soreness from a couple ‘nagging preseason knocks’.

6:16 PM Update: FCD lineup is out

No Jesse Gonzalez. But that starting lineup is about what we expected following the CCL match on Wednesday.

RSL comes out strong as well
