Power Rankings: FC Dallas nearing the bottom

FCD just can’t stop sinking down the rankings.

Welcome to another week of the MLS Power Rankings. FC Dallas got a 0-0 draw at home against the visiting Seattle Sounders. The draw was seen as a complete disaster for slumping FCD, and they were dropped further down the ranking. It should be noted that the draw was seen as a success for the Sounders, and their high rankings were unaffected.


MLS - Ranking 14 (Last Week 13)

Comments: Something’s rotten in Frisco. Will it finally force Oscar Pareja to take a long look at his first-choice XI?

ESPNFC - Ranking 17 (Last Week 17)

Comments: FC Dallas are eighth in the Western Conference after Saturday's 0-0 draw vs. Seattle. Eighth. They were in first place in July. There are simply no answers for what's going on in Big D.

The Score - Ranking 13 (Last Week 11)

Comments: FC Dallas will hope this draw against a tough Western Conference opponent serves as a stopgap to its sinking ship. They're now below the playoff red line.

Planet Futbol - Ranking 14 (Last Week 17)

Comments: The winless run is now nine, and the Shield holders now have slipped below the MLS playoff line. Times are desperate in Dallas. “We have to keep fighting. It’s what we are,” coach Oscar Pareja said. “The league is that tough. The league has become that hard for us this year.”

Soccer America - Ranking 16 (Last Week 14)

Comments: FCD plugged up its leaky defense – 12 goals allowed in the previous five games -- to post its first shutout in more than a month, but has itself failed to score five times during its nine-match winless skid. Out of the playoff tier on goal difference, it starts a run of three matches in eight days Saturday at Minnesota United.
