What to watch for against the Colorado Rapids

A hot Hairston and struggling Hollingshead could make things hairy at home.

FC Dallas looks to end a two game losing streak as they host the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night at Toyota Stadium.

Will the curse be broken?

The last two weeks in the scouting reports I said that FC Dallas couldn’t possibly lose, then I listed off some stat about how they had never lost to x team at home or ever. That didn’t go very well for anyone involved. That being said, people rarely learn from their mistakes. Colorado are on an 11 game winless streak away from home, FC Dallas can’t possibly lose.

Marlon Hairston is hot

Hairston has two goals and two assists in his last five games. The right winger has been the bright spot for Colorado lately. He looked dangerous early last game, missing a goal in the third minute by a few inches before recording an assist later in the game. After Ryan Hollingshead’s rough outing against Philadelphia, Hairston could make things messy for Dallas this weekend.

Dallas needs Urruti

Who is the spark plug of the team this year? Dallas are 16-0-6 all time when Maxi Urruti scores or assists. It’s hard to argue that a good game from Urruti doesn’t make a huge impact on the team, when he’s on, he’s on. He can create something from nothing like we saw earlier in the season.

Dallas have been outscored 7-1 the last two games, which looks bad defensively, but a lack of offensive production is Dallas’ real problem.
