Vancouver got two goals from Fredy Montero to help pick up their first-ever win in Frisco.
Vancouver struck first in the 18th minute on a goal from Bernie Ibini-Isei from 20 yards out. Ibini-Isei collected the ball in the midfield and opted to take a shot that knuckled a bit as it landed in front of Jesse Gonzalez before it bounced in the back of the net.
Dallas nearly tied it up in the 40th minute on a tap in from Roland Lamah. Carlos Gruezo got the ball 25 yards away from the goal and then sent it long to the far side where Lamah jumped over his defender and then poked the ball past David Oustad. Unfortunately for Lamah and Dallas, the goal was whistled offside.
Vancouver doubled their lead three minutes into the second half on a penalty kick from Fredy Montero. Kellyn Acosta was whistled for the foul in the box as he and Montero went in for a 50-50 ball that Acosta cleared away with minimal contact.
In the 60th minute, Dallas went down to ten men when Gruezo and Yordy Reyna collided at midfield. Reyna was attempting to shield the ball away from Gruezo but the Ecuadorian brought Reyna down and was then issued an early bath.
Montero doubled his tally in the 67th minute. Toni Tchani played the ball over to the left side of the pitch where Matias Laba was waiting to quickly play the ball behind the Dallas defense to Montero who quickly found the back of the net.
Vancouver picked up their fourth goal in the 83rd minute on a bicycle kick from Nicolas Mezquida.
FC Dallas returns to action next week as they head east to battle the Philadelphia Union.
