FC Dallas looks to get three points on the road in Canada this weekend.

FC Dallas heads to Canada to take on the underperforming Montreal Impact, fresh off a midweek win.

Mid-season Turn-Arounds

Montreal have had a rough first half of the year, coming up with a record of 6-6- 6, landing them eighth in the East, but a home win Wednesday and the break could see L’Impact rejuvenated. Dallas meanwhile was finally just getting things together with Diaz on the field, a few wins, snuffed out by a tough loss on the road in Open Cup play. Dallas can still challenge for the Shield, while Montreal will be desperate to pick up points and make the playoffs.

Potential Lineup

Montreal will miss Ambroise Oyongo and Ignacio Piatti going into this game.

GK: Evan Bush; LB: Daniel Lovitz; CB: Victor Cabrera, Laurent Ciman; RB: Chris Duvall; CM: Hernan Bernardello, Louis Beland-Goyette; RW: Dominic Oduro; LW: Jean Yves-Tabla; FW: Mateo Mancosu

Key Matchup

Maxi Urruti vs. Laurent Ciman. Dallas have struggled on the road this year, and the few times they have performed well, it was at the sheer will of Urruti. If there is anything in this one for Dallas, Urruti, the pressure he provides, and the goal he pops up with will be key. Ciman will have a tough time with Urruti, but he is very much capable of putting in the defensive work to shut down Dallas striker. If he keeps Urruti from getting to him then Montreal should be able to get something from this game.

Three Keys to Victory

Midfield Struggle

This game will show off two very exciting midfields, both explosive at times. The counter is something both teams are good at, and both teams are led by important attacking mids. Dzemaili and Diaz are both capable of controlling games and both teams will struggle to control their opposite number.

Missing Pieces

Both sides are missing important players. Piatti is one of the nest wingers in the league and his absence is a great thing for Dallas. Dallas on the flip side has managed to cope with the loss of Matt Hedges and Kellyn Acosta so far, but will adding Jesse Gonzalez to the missing shake the team up enough to drop points?

Dallas Road Show

Dallas at home and Dallas on the road are two different teams this year. At home they are fast and exciting, on the road they struggle to string passes together. If the season is trending up for Dallas then this game will have to show an improved ability of the Hoops to concentrate when playing at one of the tougher away trips in the league.
