Three FC Dallas players called into the 2017 MLS Homegrown Game

Jesus Ferreira, Jesse Gonzalez and Paxton Pomykal to take on Chivas U-20s on August 1 at Toyota Park in Chicago.

MLS Homegrown Team head coach Brian McBride and assistant coach Mike Magee have named their 18-man roster for the 2017 MLS Homegrown Game. The roster features three FC Dallas players including Jesus Ferreira, Jesse Gonzalez and Paxton Pomykal.

The trio will take on the Chivas de Guadalajara Under-20 Team in the fourth annual MLS Homegrown Game on Tuesday, August 1, at 7 p.m. CT at Toyota Park in Chicago.

The U-20 Chivas de Guadalajara side, the defending Liga MX U-20 champions, which features a roster with five players who represented Mexico at the U-20 World Cup. Several of the players have also received time with the Chivas reserve team along with the first team side that captured its record 12th Liga MX title in May. The Chivas U-20 travelling roster will be named at a later date.

MLS Homegrown Players aged 22 or under were available for selection.

Gonzalez is making his third appearance in this game. This season, Gonzalez has registered a career-high 15 matches started, putting out five shutout performances.

Pomykal and Ferreira are making their first appearances in this game. Ferreira is actually the youngest player to ever receive a call up to this game.
