The international windows for MLS teams are always tricky to deal with and FC Dallas has two more players out this week as Tesho Akindele (Canada) and Maynor Figueroa (Honduras) have been called in by their respective national teams.
Akindele and Canada will be playing Curaçao in a friendly on June 13 in Montreal. This will serve as their tuneup to the Gold Cup later this summer.
Figueroa and Honduras have a pair of World Cup qualifiers to deal with. First they will host Mexico on June 8 and then will travel to Panama on June 13.
The two join Kellyn Acosta and Matt Hedges who are currently out on national team duty this week. Both players subbed on in the second half of the U.S. National Team’s 1-1 draw in a friendly against Venezuela on Saturday, June 3. The U.S. hosts Trinidad & Tobago in an important FIFA World Cup Qualifying match this Thursday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado.
